Rojo y negro

Nunca o casi nunca uso prendas rojas. No van conmigo. O no iban, no sé.

Hoy os enseño una falda que me he hecho siguiendo el patrón de una de Carolina Herrera, alargándola a midi. Es de la revista Patrones, el número 345. No es roja, es negra.

I never or almost never wear red clothes. They're not going with me. Or they weren't, I don't know.

Today I show you a skirt that I made following the pattern of a Carolina Herrera skirt, lengthening it to midi. It's from Patrones magazine, the number 345. It's not red, it's black.

La tela es de mi stock mexicano, es una tela brocada con la que me ha gustado trabajar. No he forrado la falda y no se me pega a las medias; además es calentita. Muy bien.

Al principio pensé en ponérmela con todo negro o con tonos marrones pero luego mis botas rojas decían que las sacara por una vez del armario. Y eso hice.

The fabric is from my Mexican stock, it's a brocade fabric that I've enjoyed working with. I haven't lined my skirt and it doesn't stick to my stockings; it's also warm. All right, all right.

At first I thought I'd wear it all black or brown, but then my red boots said to take it out for once. And that's what I did.

Las fotos las hice en el puente, aprovechando una escapada a Segovia. Paramos en la sierra que estaba pletórica de nieve.

I took the photos during the long weekend, taking advantage of a break to Segovia. We stopped at the mountain range that was full of snow.

También me hice fotos en el Acueducto; cada vez me gusta más este monumento, antes, no sé por qué, no me terminaba de convencer, lo asociaba a algo aburrido, pero cuanto más lo explico en clase de Arte más me gusta. Creo  que todo el mundo debería admirarlo, es increíble.

I also took pictures of myself in the Aqueduct; I like this monument more and more, before, I don't know why, I didn't finish convincing myself, I associated it with something boring, but the more I explain it in art class, the more I like it. I think everyone should admire it, it's incredible.

La última foto debajo del Alcázar, creo que no hay que añadir nada. Es precioso, ¿verdad?

Definitivamente, me gusta como queda el negro con el rojo. Repetiré seguro.

Azul y verde, se muerden

O algo así decían en mi casa.

Saliendo de mi zona de confort, me doy cuenta de que en el blog publico cosas que luego no me pongo mucho en mi día a día; aunque otras sí, ¿eh?.

Soy mucho de vaqueros aunque con la edad me vuelvo más coqueta e improviso.

Hoy traigo un vestido de la revista Patrones Nº 367 que me ha encantado hacer. Es fácil de coser y muy cómodo de vestir. Este va a ser de los que use mucho.

Leaving my comfort zone, I realize that in the blog I publish things that later I don't put much in my daily life, although others do, huh?

I'm a lot of jeans but with age I become more flirtatious and unexpected. 

Today I'm wearing a dress from Patrones magazine No. 367 that I've loved to make. It is easy to sew and very comfortable to wear. This is going to be one of those I use a lot.

La tela es de un mercadillo (2€/m=4€). Eso, más la cremallera y el hilo, todo, me ha salido por 7€ y medio.


Está muy bien. La verdad es que las grandes cadenas tienen vestidos chulos y baratos que tampoco están mal pero la satisfacción de hacerlo uno mismo y no encontrarte a nadie con algo igual no tiene comparación.

The fabric is from a flea market (2€/m=4€). That, plus the zipper and the thread, everything, came out for €7.5.

It's very good. The truth is that the major chains have cool and cheap dresses that aren't bad either, but the satisfaction of doing it yourself and to find no one else with something like that is unparalleled.

Estoy feliz con el vestido, muy muy cómodo.

Tengo que decir que a mis amigas les ha encantado, una me ha encargado uno igual que no sé si haré pero si me animo ya os lo enseñaré para que veáis el resultado.

He de decir que el próximo lo haré con la cremallera invisible hasta arriba porque en el patrón deja como unos 15 cm de abertura desde el final de la cremallera hasta el cuello y se abre de una manera que no me convence.

Las mangas no se unen con frunce sino que llevan un pliegue en el medio.

I have to say that my girlfriends loved it, one of them asked me to do one just like I don't know if I will do, but if I encourage myself, I'll show you the result.

I have to say that the next one I will do it with the invisible zipper up to the top because in the pattern leaves about 15 cm of opening from the end of the zipper to the neck and opens in a way that doesn't convince me.

The sleeves are not joined with a crimp but have a fold in the middle.

Aquí os lo enseño con chaqueta y foulard azul marino. Lo dicho, encantada.
